Fundraiser for Residents of Asheville, NC

Online Business for Good

A private podcast feed with exclusive high value excerpts from different online business owners.

In Asheville, NC, cars, homes, and lives have been washed away. Roads and infrastructure are flooded and have left people stranded & desperately in need of help.

My team has personal connections to Asheville, and members of the wider online business community are being personally impacted by this.

It's 2am, and I'm awake asking: "How can we help?"

We’ve all got a lot going on, and are bombarded by information, content, stories, news, and life at a breakneck pace.

So what could we do that is high impact for you, and gives you something you would never normally get access to?

I’ve asked my online business friends to go and dig out some gold from their vaults - stuff that you would never normally have access to - so we can create a private podcast of short, impactful audios that will help you get a bigger perspective on your business & work.

The Online Business for Good Podcast is on sale with a minimum donation of $9, but the option for you to donate more if you’d like to.

After payment processing fees (e.g. 2.99% for PayPal), all of the proceeds will be donated to local people, charities, and organisations in Asheville, NC. This will be very clearly shown on this web page for transparency so you can see exactly who has been supported.

Get Access to the Gold for $9+

Choose to pay $9, $36, or $96 to access the podcast & get over 30 exclusive episodes (and counting!)

Contributors are rolling in each day, and you’ll get access to the entire vault of audio files that my amazing online business friends are donating!

All proceeds after PayPal fees go directly to those in immediate need, and details of total raised & where it’s been donated will be added to this page.

More details about the donations with confirmation screenshots can be found below.

Please note that GoFundMe transactions show on PayPal as a pending transaction when you first make the donation, so the screenshots from PayPal are to show it has been authorised but I will update them once the payment is fully cleared.

Donation #1 ➡️ $1500 donated to Asha Wild

Asha is a fellow member of the online business community whose house has been completely destroyed. You can find Asha’s website here, and see updates from her on her Facebook page here.

If you’d like to donate anything additional to Asha, you can send her money via Venmo or PayPal with the handle @ashawild.

Donation #2 ➡️ $1142 donated to the Garren Creek Community via GoFundMe

Find the GoFundMe page here | This is organised by Kate and Justin Krause, who are friends of my colleague, Brian. They have been doing a huge amount to support individuals in their community before starting a GoFundMe.

They had a goal of $5,000 - so we donated the $1,142 they still needed to help them reach that goal.

They had already raised money prior to setting up the GoFundMe, which they used in the following ways (this is taken from the GoFundMe page):

  • $800 to a single father who needed to take his girls to safety.

  • $400 to a grandma whose food all rotted and had no money left to get her through the week.

  • Feed to save a dear friends’ farm which is her livelihood, along with many supplies to her community that is somewhat trapped

  • A generator and cash for groceries to more people.

  • Gas distributed to several neighbors who need to evacuate.

  • $300 to a stranger on Facebook with no means to make it through the week

  • Money to Be Loved Asheville, a trusted non profit that their church works with.

  • A generator for their own family so they can move back in sooner & hopefully live and work.

Donation #3 ➡️ $500 donated to Kate Galloway & Family via GoFundMe

Find the GoFundMe page here | This fundraiser is Kim Galloway’s sister-in-law - Kim is another member of the online business community and you can find Kim’s website here. Kate and Chris have two young children, and Chris is battling brain cancer. They have (like so many others) lost everything to flooding, and are starting from square 1.

You can make additional donations and read more about them via their GoFundMe page here.

Notes About Donations

Due to the nature of disasters & the time it takes for infrastructure and organisational support, many of the donations will be made to individuals in need. This could be accessing a generator, getting supplies to be able to eat properly, or replacing basic things needed for survival. Something I found out after the storms in Houston from family & friends was that hotels can be $500+ a night.

All donations will be documented here for transparency, and we are liaising with those local to Asheville to ensure that resources are dispersed to those who need it most - getting power, water, food, and gas, and making sure people are as safe as possible as they navigate the dangerous conditions they’re facing.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This isn’t a fundraiser to give to a specific charity or organisation at this point. We have a network of individuals and families in need and are being updated by people local to Asheville and the surrounding area, and we are responding to the real-time needs of people in crisis. We will be completely transparent about where money raised is going, but please note that it is to people who are known to me and my network.

If you would like to give to a charity, a list will be added to this page.

Please check back here to see updates each day from Thursday, October 3 onwards to see total sales for the day (as of midnight Pacific the previous day) and details for where the funds are going.

If you personally know someone who has been impacted by Hurricane Helene in the Asheville & Buncombe County area, there are two ways to share this information via the Google Form:

  1. Let me and my team know their connection to you & their situation

  2. Share a link to their existing GoFundMe page and I can add it here
